Delete Your Account
Last updated: September 8, 2026
You can delete your WordSprout account and data at any time. You do not need an active subscription, and you can make the request without installing the app.
Delete in the app
- Open WordSprout on your phone.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted.
Your account and data are removed immediately. If you only want to clear your synced words and child profiles but keep your account, use Settings → Delete All My Data instead.
Request deletion without the app
Email korion2525+wordsprout@gmail.com from the email address on your account, with the subject line:
Account deletion request
We use the sending address to verify that you own the account. If we cannot match the request to an account, we may ask for more information before proceeding. Please allow a few business days for us to process emailed requests.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Your user profile.
- Your children's profiles (first name and birthdate).
- All vocabulary words, translations, and progress data associated with your account.
- Your family group and its shared data if you are the only member.
If your family has other members, the family and its shared vocabulary data are kept for those members, and you are removed from the family.
Some records may be retained where the law requires it — for example, limited subscription and transaction records kept by the app stores and our payments processor (RevenueCat) for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes. These are not used for any other purpose.
How long it takes
- Live systems: your data is removed immediately when you delete in the app, or as soon as we verify an emailed request.
- Encrypted backups: residual copies are purged within 30 days.
- Crash logs: diagnostic and crash data held by Firebase Crashlytics ages out automatically within approximately 90 days.
